  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup heavy cream or milk
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C) and grease a loaf or bundt pan.
  • Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and baking soda.
  • Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  • Add vanilla and mix in the dry ingredients gradually.
  • In a separate bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and an egg.
  • Layer the chocolate batter and cream cheese mixture in the pan, then bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool completely before serving.
