- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup heavy cream or milk
- ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C) and grease a loaf or bundt pan.
- Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and baking soda.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
- Add vanilla and mix in the dry ingredients gradually.
- In a separate bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and an egg.
- Layer the chocolate batter and cream cheese mixture in the pan, then bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool completely before serving.
Notes
- For extra richness, fold in chocolate chips or add a caramel drizzle.
- Store at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week.
- To freeze, wrap tightly and store in a freezer-safe bag for up to 3 months.
