Method

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of rolled oats, 2 cups of milk, 1 mashed banana, 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder, and 2 tablespoons of sweetener. Mix well.
  2. If desired, stir in 1 tablespoon of chia seeds for added texture and nutrition.
  3. Divide the mixture into jars or containers. Seal tightly and refrigerate overnight for optimal absorption.
  4. In the morning, give the oats a good stir. Top with sliced bananas, a sprinkle of cocoa, crunchy nuts, or granola to create a harmonious blend of textures.
  5. Enjoy! This dish is best enjoyed cold, straight from the fridge, but can also be warmed slightly in the microwave if desired.

Notes

Cooking overnight oats is all about preparation. Aim for a 1:2 ratio of oats to liquid for perfect consistency. For thicker texture, use less liquid or more chia seeds. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
