- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space for cookie spreading.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown around the edges and still soft in the middle.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For extra chewy cookies, refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking; this helps develop flavors.
