Method

Preparation
  1. Wash the potatoes and cut them into bite-sized pieces for even cooking.
Cooking Potatoes
  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat a tablespoon of olive oil.
  2. Add the potatoes, season with salt and pepper, and sauté until golden and tender, about 15-20 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  3. Remove the potatoes from the skillet and set aside, keeping them warm.
Cooking Steak
  1. In the same skillet, melt the butter and add the minced garlic.
  2. Season the steak with salt and pepper before adding it to the skillet.
  3. Cook until desired doneness is reached, usually around 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare. Remove and let it rest.
Final Steps
  1. Return the potatoes to the skillet during the last couple of minutes of cooking the steak to soak up flavors.
  2. Pour the garlic butter over everything just before serving.

Notes

Use a cast iron skillet for great heat retention and a nice sear. Adjust seasonings to preference. Make sure to let the steak rest before slicing.
