Ingredients

Pretzels
  • 1 package yogurt-covered or milk chocolate-covered pretzels Regular pretzels can also be used.
Candy Melts
  • 1 cup colored candy melts (orange, red, green, yellow) Choose your favorite colors.
Sprinkles
  • 1/2 cup sprinkles, jimmies, nonpareils, or mini M&Ms Any combination can work for decoration.

Method

Preparation
  1. Lay out the pretzels on a piece of wax paper to serve as your working surface.
  2. Leave enough space between each pretzel as your decorations will spread.
Melting Candy
  1. Heat the candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl according to the package directions, stirring until completely melted and smooth.
  2. Transfer melted candy to a piping bag or a zip-top bag with the corner trimmed off for easier decorating.
Decorating
  1. Pipe the candy melts into the top left and right holes of each pretzel to create 'eyes'.
  2. While the melted candy is still warm, add your sprinkles, jimmies, or mini M&Ms to create pupils.
  3. Once decorated, allow the pretzels to set completely. You can speed this up by placing them in the refrigerator.
Serving
  1. Carefully peel the pretzels off the wax paper and arrange them on a serving platter or in clear plastic bags tied with ribbons.
  2. Consider using them as part of a candy buffet at a Halloween party.

Notes

Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness. If transporting, place wax paper between the pretzels to prevent sticking. They can last for up to two weeks when stored properly.
