Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup Creamy peanut butter Star ingredient; can substitute with almond or cashew butter.
  • 1 cup Rolled oats Provide structure; quick oats might alter texture.
  • 1/2 cup Honey or maple syrup Use honey for sweetness; maple syrup is a vegan alternative.
  • 1 cup Chocolate chips Semi-sweet or dark chocolate preferred; white chocolate is an option.
  • 1 pinch Salt Enhances flavors and balances sweetness.

Method

Preparation
  1. Line an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper, allowing some overhang for easy removal.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the peanut butter, oats, honey, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
  3. Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and press firmly to create an even layer.
  4. In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
  5. Pour the melted chocolate over the oat mixture and spread it evenly using a spatula.
  6. Place the bars in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to firm up. Once set, lift them out using the parchment paper and cut into squares.
Tips
  1. If you like textures, sprinkle some crushed nuts or seeds on top before the chocolate sets.
  2. If the mixture feels too sticky, add a bit more oats until you reach the desired consistency.
