Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups almond flour
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • 3 large eggs
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • ½ cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Extras:

  • ½ cup dark chocolate chunks
  • ¼ cup sliced almonds

Instructions
 

  • Preheat & Prepare: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk almond flour, all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • Whisk Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, beat eggs, sugar, melted butter, orange juice, zest, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Combine: Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Add Extras: Stir in dark chocolate chunks. Pour batter into the pan and sprinkle sliced almonds on top.
  • Bake: Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few crumbs.
  • Cool & Serve: Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

  • For extra moisture, replace half of the butter with Greek yogurt.
  • Use high-quality cocoa and fresh orange zest for the best flavor.
  • Top with chocolate ganache for a richer finish.
